Bhartiya Samaj Brisbane Launch & Diwali Celebrations

We  are delighted to inform you that New Zealand-based charity, Bhartiya  Samaj Charitable Trust, is going to organise a mega Diwali in Brisbane  on November 5. Diwali is a perfect occasion to lay down the foundation  of Bhartiya Samaj’s Brisbane Chapter as the festival of lights illumines  minds, enlightens hearts and strengthens bonds within communities.

It  is not just like any other Diwali celebrations. Bhartiya Samaj Brisbane  has collaborated with a local charity, "The Seva Project" to give back  to the community on the occasion of Diwali. The Seva project have been  providing clothing, blankets, toiletries and other essentials to the  disenfranchised and homeless people of Brisbane, every week for over two  years.

The  celebrations will begin with a Puja (prayer) followed by cultural dance  and music performances from Rajasthan, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat,  Punjab, Kerala and other states of India, and food and activity stalls. A  dedicated kids corner will be put up to provide an opportunity to  children to showcase their creative skills through Diya (earthen lamps)  painting.
