International Yoga Day 202
Yoga is more than just physical exercise. It is a timeless practice that promotes harmony between mind, body, and spirit while nurturing wellbeing, mindfulness, inner peace, and a balanced lifestyle.
On 21 June, Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust was delighted to participate in the International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre, Auckland, organised by the India In Auckland - Consulate General of India, in collaboration with the Indian Diaspora in New Zealand, Indian Council For Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India and The Art of Living

Celebrating Matariki 2026 Together
Matariki is a special time to pause, reflect on the year that has passed, honour those who are no longer with us, celebrate the people around us, and embrace new beginnings with hope. It was a privilege to come together as a community and celebrate these values through culture, connection, and shared experiences.
On Saturday, 27 June 2026, our community gathered at the Mount Roskill War Memorial Hall for a memorable Matariki celebration.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported this beautiful celebration.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2026
The event highlighted the importance of protecting, respecting, and valuing our older generation while reinforcing a powerful message:
Elder abuse in any form is unacceptable, and every senior deserves dignity, care, love, and respect.
The programme began with a prayer, birthday celebrations , and an energetic exercise session led by Inspector Andrew Lui, Ethnic Responsiveness Manager, New Zealand Police.

Generations in Play 2026
What an incredible, heartwarming, and successful event Generations in Play was on 7 June 2026 at the Fickling Convention Centre, Three Kings!
Organised by Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust and proudly supported by Welcoming Communities and Puketāpapa Local Board, the event brought together grandparents, parents, and grandchildren under one roof for a memorable day of connection, joy, and togetherness.

Taraniki (New Chapter)
Today marks a proud milestone for us all — we are thrilled to announce the establishment of our Bhartiya Samaj new chapter in Taranaki Plymouth!
This achievement reflects the dedication, passion, and teamwork of everyone involved. A heartfelt congratulations to our incredible Taranaki team for making this possible.

BSCT Seniors' Day Out & Holi Celebration
On 14 March 2026, Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust organised a joyful outing for seniors to Long Bay Beach. The day began with breakfast at Mount Roskill War Memorial Hall, followed by a lively bus journey filled with prayers, music, and laughter. At the beach, seniors showcased their talents through singing, dancing, and fun activities, along with a vibrant Holi celebration using flower petals. The event concluded with lunch, leaving everyone with happy memories and a strong sense of community. A big thank you to our volunteers and supporters for making the day so special.

77th India Republic Day Celebration

Summer Camp 23rd Successful Camp
Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust proudly celebrated the 23rd successful year of its Summer Camp, welcoming over 100 children for a fun-filled and enriching week. The camp featured a blend of learning, creativity, sports, and engaging workshops, helping children build confidence and create lasting memories.
We sincerely thank all parents for their continued trust, our enthusiastic participants, and our dedicated volunteers and teachers for their support and commitment. We also appreciate the contributions of our supporters and sponsors who helped make the camp a success.
This milestone reflects the strength of our community and our commitment to nurturing and empowering young minds. 💛

International Day of Older Persons
On 28th September 2024, Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust, in collaboration with Roopa Aur Aap Charitable Trust, hosted a vibrant celebration for the International Day of Older Persons at Mount Roskill War Memorial Hall. The event honored our seniors and their contributions, starting with a warm gathering, prayers, birthday celebrations, and morning tea. The festivities included a lively performance by the Khottey Sikkey Dance Group, a senior Fashion Walk, and musical performances by Purnima Mody and board members. Distinguished dignitaries and community leaders attended, reflecting the spirit of collaboration. Thanks to the volunteers, the day was filled with love, respect, unity, and joy, concluding with singing and a delicious lunch.

Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust kicked off the festive season with a heartwarming Christmas and End of the Year Celebration for the community. The event, held at the Bal Vikas Language and Cultural Classes, was a vibrant gathering of families, children, and volunteers, all coming together to celebrate the holiday spirit. The celebration featured exciting performances by the children, showcasing their skills in singing, dancing, and cultural activities. The event not only marked the joy of Christmas but also provided an opportunity to reflect on the year's achievements and bond with the community0. As we bid farewell to 2024, the celebration was a reminder of the unity, support, and warmth that define our community. A big thank you to all the participants, volunteers, and supporters who made this event a memorable end to the year. Here's to a bright and joyful new year ahead!
